The Autumn Railroad Festival will also feature two exclusive experiences with steam locomotive no. 765: Throttle Time, which will allow visitors to run the historic icon at its maintenance facility, and The 765 Experience, a hands-on, behind-the-scenes tour of what it takes to maintain and operate a 1940s steam locomotive. General Admission tickets are $5.00.
Tickets will go on sale on September 2nd at 6:00 PM. Member pre-sales will begin on September 2nd at Noon. All trains depart the Society’s facility at 15808 Edgerton Road, New Haven, Indiana.
All Pumpkin Train tickets are $8.00 and include admission to the event and one pumpkin per ticket. All train rides will be diesel-powered. Pumpkin Train trips last approximately 10-15 minutes.
Throttle Time will let you live out your dream as the engineer of historic steam locomotive no. 765! Each session includes 30-minutes of locomotive operation on several hundred feet of our facility trackage under the supervision of our crew. Pull back on the throttle, whistle off, and learn what moving 400-tons of time machine really feels like. Tickets for Throttle Time are $150.00.
All participants must be 16-years-old or older with a valid driver’s license and be in good health. No cell phones will be permitted in the cab.
The 765 Experience is an exclusive, hands-on, behind-the-scenes tour of what it takes to maintain and operate a 1940s steam locomotive. This guided experience will put you up close and personal with the 765 for three hours as you learn to service the 765’s running gear, clean its fire, and learn what moving 400-tons of time machine feels like. Tickets for the 765 Experience are $284.00.

In concert with the Allen County Health Department, the Society will operate all trains at a reduced capacity and manage attendance with pre-sale tickets. Additional precautions for COVID-19 are available at fortwaynerailroad.org/covid-19.
