LAST WEEKENDS SHOP ACTIVITY
A few minor details were finished on the locomotive. Most of the work was cleaning up the engine with some new miracle soap furnished by Dan Steele. The first of several loads of coal arrived today. I am now filling the boiler with water for the hydrostatic test coming up on the 18th.
Otherwise, work continued on the crane, box car and the open-air car.
UPCOMING ACTIVITIES
This weekend work will continue on other projects. The water in the boiler of the 765 will be heated to 70 degrees to facilitate the hydrostatic test on next Monday. Starting Monday (April 18th there will be a flurry of work needed. If you have time, please come on out, Staybolts need to be plugged, arch brick installed, and a boiler wash needs to be done before the 6th of May when we will be doing the steam test of the boiler. That will be followed with a trip to CVSR.
