LAST WEEKENDS SHOP ACTIVITY

Activity on the 765 is heating up a bit with the nearness of the Open House and upcoming trips to CVSR.  After detecting no leaks in the tank after filling with water Sarah and I put the tender slope sheet in place.  Still need to paint  the bolt heads but we are essentially ready for coal.  The past weekend Brody, Eric, and Mathew with an assist from Joe, in between meetings, washed out the boiler, getting rid of some accumulated scale. This should make the upcoming boiler wash scheduled for Sept 9th a bit easier to do on the road.

In other projects Rich finished surrounding the box car in siding.  Some areas of the 358 were sanded down to get it ready for paint, lots of that are still needed.  Additional piping was installed as well.  The diesels and the crane were filled with fuel and most of the grass was mowed but seems to be growing at a fantastic rate and will need it again soon.

UPCOMING ACTIVITIES

Over the next couple of weekends, we need to:

Put washout plugs back in

load coal

fill with water.

lubricate appliances.

As part of that process, we need to put the crane back together, hopefully next weekend.
