This past weekend saw much effort around the cleaning and organization of the property. Brush and limbs along the fence were cleared to allow access to years worth of accumulated metal that was loaded onto a trailer for scrap.

Some old ties and an old coal stove were used to make planters near the entry door to help make the place feel more inviting.

WD Miller was kind enough to grill up burgers and brats for all those that came and helped with the spring cleaning day.

More cleaning work will continue next weekend as well as additional flower planting.

Work on the Wabash Caboose ramps up again next weekend. DJ hopes to have the new beam installed on the south side on Sunday, May 26th. Contact DJ to get in on the email chain for that project at dj@fwrhs.org.

Work on the box car continues. Contact Tom Nitza to get in on the email chain for that project at nitza@fwrhs.org.

358 is back in the shop and final battery box fabrication continues in anticipation of the soon to happen install of the newly acquired batteries. Contact WD Miller to get in on the email chain for Project 358 at miller@fwrhs.org

534 work continues every weekend. Contact Jerrad Bennet for information on that project at bennet@fwrhs.org.

It’s beginning to feel like spring at the shop!
