LAST WEEKENDS SHOP ACTIVITY

The shop was busy this week and many projects were advanced.  On the 765 John finished boring the holes for the gib pins in the spring hangers. The rear spring hangers were found to be considerably off print dimensions, so we increased the dimension by a ¼ inch which puts them where the original hole was located.  If the print proves to be accurate, we can correct this by adding a ¼ inch shim under the spring hanger gib pin keeper plate.  Jerrad flipped the truck over Saturday to allow access for measuring the tram of the axles.  Previously inaccessible parts of the truck were cleaned.  Sunday morning Zach and Chuck measured the axle spacing and pedestal liners for tramming dimensions and came up with measurements on how much and where to shim. It appears that everything is in reasonably close alignment.

UPCOMING ACTIVITIES

Next week a clean up the ground’s day is scheduled.  An announcement is scheduled to go out this week.  My current understanding there will be some food supplied along with a carry in of your own favorite property cleaning food items. You can bring along some yard tools if you have them like brush cutters etc.  We will be collecting  scrap metal for recycling and processing some of that before hauling it off to Omni Source.
