AST WEEKENDS SHOP ACTIVITY
Most of the effort is getting ready for the Santa train coming up over the next 4 weekends. Opportunities to assist with this event are still available currently. Work has continued on the 765. The most notable accomplishment was unloading coal from the tender. Mary, Sarah, and others have the rods cleaned to a shine. The access platform restored by the Boy Scouts has been assembled and put in place for cab tours.
UPCOMING ACTIVITIES
Santa trains are expected to take up most of the time over the next weekends. There are mechanical projects that will continue on the week days.
SAFETY SENSE
For all Society Members, for all jobs and for all operations we MUST adopt the core principle that…
SAFETY IS JOB 1
This is the only way that we will stand chance of being a long-term injury free operation.
Enforcement of the Safety Rules is everyone’s responsibility. Do not be apprehensive about, politely and professionally,
coaching a member when PPEs are not being properly used or if unsafe practices are occurring.
No one comes to a Society operation or activity with the premise that they might be injured that day. The only way the the probability of injury can be alleviated is by following all the safety rules, regulations and procedures.
Let’s continue to be a safe and professional operation.
