LAST WEEKENDS SHOP ACTIVITY
Most of the week was spent on the boxcar and cabooses as well as giving tours. I have been processing scrap for sale for the purpose of cleaning up the grounds and building. Mowing is back on the schedule as well, with much of the area having received a haircut.
UPCOMING ACTIVITIES
Current plan is to work on the trailing truck shim over the coming weekend. The short of it is to get the weight off the trailing truck, take out the current shim and replace it with a more permanent shim. Simply said but who knows how many curve balls will be thrown in the process. While this is taking place the 358 will be over the pit for a undercarriage inspection and the diner may be hooked up to shore power to check out electrical systems and other issues. Box car work is likely to proceed as well. The grass keeps growing so will probably need cut as well.
SAFETY SENSE
Health Safety
The COVID virus and its variations/mutations are not done with the US population. The current variant, B.1.1.7 which originated in the UK, is spreading and is the prevalent COVID strain being experienced in several locations including Michigan. This Variant is reported to be 60 percent more transmittable and more deadly than the original COVID19. The Michigan hospitals are reaching 100 percent capacity due to the influx of COVID patients. The patients are typically middle aged and have not been vaccinated.
Please, for your health safety and that of others, even if you have been vaccinated, be responsible and follow the recommendations/direction of the CDC and the Health Care Community and….
