LAST WEEKENDS SHOP ACTIVITY
Friday, the engine was moved to get it ready for jacking and while it was out the shop was cleaned up. Jerrad worked on paint but found our air drier broken and water mixed with paint made for a less than perfect job which we will correct at the cost of another week or two of work. The afternoon was spent restoring plumbing and jacketing the backhead of the loco.
Saturday dawned hot and muggy but a few intrepid folks showed to work on the 765. We got the cab insulated and most of the jacket installed. A broken spring hanger link was removed and inspected. Piping was hung and a plethora of other tasks were accomplished. The engine is beginning to look like it might run if the Mechanical Manager can get the paperwork completed.
Sunday the cab Jacketing was largely completed and much of the piping installed.
