LAST WEEKENDS SHOP ACTIVITY
John spent some time measuring pins and bushings on the trailing truck parts we had in the shop. Some show wear others not that much. The big wear is on the upper part of the spring swords. Other pins have some wear and we will have to investigate further to find what we need to fix and what we can live with.
Saturday, we brought most of the remaining truck parts in and cleaned and labeled them.
Some time was also spent draining and replacing the oil in one of the bearings on the engine truck. The oil reports came back this week. The reports were all good with less impurities and no water.
UPCOMING ACTIVITIES
Next week the 765 needs to have the driver axle bearings topped off with oil. Then the plugs put back in and rewired.
SAFETY SENSE
‘Unprepared’ frequently equates to an unsafe job in the making. Understand the job at hand by reviewing drawings, photos or reviewing the job with a knowledgeable person or leader. Recognize the potential hazards and plan accordingly to manage the hazards. Use the proper tools, Personal Protective Equipment and request help, either labor or knowledge, when necessary.
A safer you is a safer us and isn’t that the ultimate goal!!
SAFETY IS JOB 1
