LAST WEEKENDS SHOP ACTIVITY
Christmas doldrums limited the work done but a faithful few were able to make some progress.
Friday was spent working on miscellaneous issues and planning. John started working on a flag box addition to the front of the engine that adds a NKP feature that has been missing. I spent some time calibrating the Ultra Sound machine. Bob W finished off gridding the firebox interior and Jeremy blew out some of the drilled telltales.
Saturday, more discussion and planning was done. Joe and Mary sorted electrical parts and put them in a new cabinet we obtained. I drilled some telltales in the backhead from the outside that had some cement left in them after drilling from the inside. The bolts with drilled through telltales were blown out.
Sunday worked on email list and thank whatever computer nerd whose efforts led to the corruption of the update list. In any case I carefully restored it only to have it drop many of the changes. Therefore, if you get this you can thank your lucky stars if you are awaiting the update with baited breath or curse your luck if you did not wish to get it in the first place. Other than that, I was the only one to brave the weather and make it to the shop. Worked some more on drilling telltales. Also created a worksheet to record our ultra sound thickness readings. Did not quite have the ambition to crawl in and take them. Plan to do so tomorrow or more likely Tuesday.
UPCOMING ACTIVITIES
I plan to be out to the shop Tuesday and again on Friday. UT testing, more layout work and smoke box cleaning are on the schedule.
