Our restoration efforts are funded entirely through memberships, ticket sales, and especially grants and private donations. Whether its an estate gift or endowment, contributions large and small make all the difference in the size, scope, and number of projects we're able to take on. We're currently fundraising for several large projects, which you can read about below! Each of these major projects are possible through your support. If you don't see a project listed that you'd like to support, please get in touch with our Donor Stewardship Committee.
Donations can be easily, safely, and securely made online using the links below by mail at Post Office Box 11017, Fort Wayne, Indiana, 46855. All donations are tax deductible and accompanied by an acknowledgment recipient letter for your tax purposes. Our EIN number is: 23-7255168
We also offer great opportunities for sponsors, corporate donors and creative partnerships. Check the sidebar to see which options are available to you.

We’re preparing to add 120 × 56 feet of new covered space to our facility. This nearly doubles our working area, giving our volunteers the room they need to bring even more history back to life! Help us add on in 2026 and raise $300,000!
In 1941, the New York Central Railroad unveiled one of the finest steam-powered streamlined passenger trains in the United States as part of its newly created “Great Steel Fleet.”
Now, part of this historic train set is destined to make history again. Once restored, it will become part of a steam-powered passenger train attraction – and inspire a new generation along the way. Join the Fort Wayne Railroad as we embark on a once-in-a-lifetime capital campaign to create our very own GREAT STEEL FLEET.
The American Locomotive Project has been established to secure a new future New York Central steam locomotive No. 3001, built by the American Locomotive Works in 1940. This railroading icon is poised for a resurgence, but this effort will only succeed with your support. Send your donation below.
Your donations help keep railroad history alive, and all contributions are tax-deductible. In addition to selecting the General Fund, you can select individual or alternate projects from this general donation list.
The Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society maintains a fund through the Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne, but this is a long-term fund intended for future projects, and donations made here cannot be readily or immediately used. Before contributing here, please contact us.
The scope and impact of our operations rival many advertising campaigns! Companies large and small have supported us through in-kind and monetary donations and sponsored events, excursions, and community outreach efforts. How can your company help us preserve and make railroad history?
